Sustainability as a territorial governance issue. The case of peri-urban green infrastructure
La sostenibilità come problema di governance territoriale. Il caso dell’infrastruttura verde periurbana
Abstract
The work examines "Sustainability as a problem of territorial governance. The case of the periurban green infrastructure”, bringing in relation the territorial dimension with the relevant economic and institutional aspects. Sustainability as a problem of territorial governance 1 With the UN Agenda 2030 and the Paris Agreement international policies for sustainable development have passed from a hierarchical system of regulatory mechanisms to a model set for objectives and results (Kanie et al., 2019). Although a general framework of action is necessary, there is no single discourse on sustainability (Krueger, Agyeman, 2005; MacGillivray, Franklin, 2015), but so many speeches as are the territories. This transition to a large extent reflects the expansion of the functional area of cities (which incorporate increasingly large portions of the surrounding rural area) and leads to an inevitable complexion of the objectives, interactions, subjects and levels to be considered for the purposes of planning (Thomas, Littlewood, 2010). The exhaustion of the interest of politics and the bands to apply on Green Crown translates into the main element of crisis of the project, which continues to exist until today, but in fact remains an empty box.
