Abstract

The article deals with “The sharing economy tourism: the case of Bologna”, placing the theme in the economic, social and territorial context discussed by the authors. The objective pursued by the study summarized here is to achieve a determination of the order of magnitude of the phenomenon sharing economy and its different components for the territory of the Metropolitan City of Bologna. The study opens with the analysis of the characteristics of the sharing economy in the sense in order to verify the correspondence between the different situations that are examined and the characteristics of the economy of the sharing properly called. It turns out that in the metropolitan city of Bologna, in 2016, Airbnb had generated a night room every 29.1 nights-room generated by the hotels. The fact that, where the underlined characteristics of exchange between peers remain, the dimension of experientiality for guests and habitual inhabitants is a source of mutual cultural enrichment. It is reasonable to expect that there will be no trend reversals in the foreseeable future, that is, the sharing economy – in tourism as in other sectors – has come to stay and goes, therefore, managed.
