Abstract

The article deals with “Covid-19, SIAARTI document and care hierarchy: changes and health behaviour in Italy”, placing the theme in the economic, social and territorial framework discussed by the authors. A milestone is the document of the Italian Society of Anesthesia, Analgesia, Reanimation and Intensive Therapy (SIAARTI, 2020) that has had the goal of guiding medical operators on the field according to a principle of “emergency medicine”, and that in fact has marginalized the elderly and more fragile people. Interstitiopathy is potentially reversible, but the phase of acuzie can last many days" (SIAARTI, 2020) The SIAARTI reflection therefore explicit a principle of medical nature associated with a concept of scarcity. A passage from the SIAARTI document (2020) clarifies the point: "The allocation is a complex and very delicate choice, also because an excessive over-increase of intensive beds would not guarantee adequate care to individual patients and would divert resources, attention and energy to the remaining patients admitted in the Intensive Therapies. In the SIAARTI document age becomes a discriminating element for care: “It may be necessary to place an age limit at the entrance to Intensive Therapy.
