New projects for demographic changes and cultural needs in the city of Aosta

Abstract

The article deals with “New design for demographic changes and cultural needs in the city of Aosta”, placing the theme in the economic, social and territorial framework discussed by the authors. The survey was carried out, during the year 2012, on three types of events: - the concerts of the cultural festival “Saison culturelle” promoted by the Assessorato Education and Culture of the Autonomous Region Valle d’Aosta and, in particular, the experience of the meeting of choral group in Ayamaville; - conferences and other cultural meetings. Specifically, a meeting organized by the Valdostana section of the Italian Association of Geography Teachers, included in the calendar of the festival “Saison culturelle”, and some meetings promoted by the Centre d’Etudes les Anciens Rémedes, an association created for the preservation of traditional local knowledge in the matter of natural remedies and medicinal herbs sited to a few kilometers from Aosta. The survey shows that participants in cultural events previously exposed (concerts, conferences, exhibitions) were involved in other cultural initiatives. The need to live the “first” and “after” the event demonstrates the need to take advantage of proposals that can satisfy the demand for culture at 360 degrees.
