Abstract
The study explores "Local development in internal areas. Territorial programming and tourism sector in Sardinia", reconstructing the problem and the main evidence developed in the text. In particular, SNAI and SRAI are united by multi-funded logic and flexibility in the formulation of answers integrated with emerging spatial needs. The eligible territorial basin consists of 37 Unions of Municipalities and Montane Communities, 295 municipalities and a resident population of 968.608, or almost 60% of the regional total. To date all eligible territories have manifested their accession and only a small number of aggregations is still engaged in the predisposition of the respective Territorial Development Project (Fig. 1). Over 200 million euros are allocated to the sector, mainly through the programming of resources of new project finance (about 85% on total) and with the forecast of operations whose average cost is around 400 thousand euros. Operations are aimed at enhancing the cultural features in their broadest sense, through the consolidation of the accessibility and usability of the attractors and a more general extension of the offer components.
