Abstract

The study explores “The role of business economist as a local development agent”, reconstructing the problem and the main evidence developed in the text. The best known figures to which small and medium-sized enterprises are addressed are the accountant or commercial doctor, who often also cover the figure of the auditor and the consultant of the job. In the Anglo-Saxon world there are professional figures that carry out the activity of specialized business consultancy: the Temporary manager (Castelli et al., 2012) and the Contract manager (Saxena, 2008) with the aim to solve management problems, develop activity and restore economic and financial balance. The Italian entrepreneur can find in the business economist the skills and intractability of the business accountant of the past who often contributed with his passion and dedication to work to make many entrepreneurs become great. “The Lici Trainer is entrusted to him the Niccolò Bonamici Nipote to educate him in the profession of the Trainer with teaching them what will be necessary.” (AGL, Various Documents Shower, 1802 - 1837, Filza 1, XV, 2, c. 110r) and emblematic, in this perspective is a document of 14 October 1802 reciting.
