Abstract

The contribution analyses “The post-pandemic: the long-term effect on economic activities”, with attention to the context, the reading tools and the implications for policies. The pandemic crisis has prompted governments to launch a plan of aid that according to the estimates of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development range between 12 and 15 thousand billion dollars. This happened in recent history as a result of the attack on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, the sub-prime mortgage crisis, the sovereign debt crisis and the euro crisis. There will therefore be a permanent effect on the marine transport (the almost all of the goods move on water) that, at least on the long distances, would be penalized. For example, the World Health Organization on June 5, 2010 indicates that “COVID-19 is a reminder of the intimate and delicate relationship between people and planet” highlighting that deforestation, loss of biodiversity, degradation of the eco-system and some human interventions on the planet are increasing the frequency, risk and spread of epidemic diseases.
