Abstract

The article deals with «The pandemic of mobility», placing the theme in the economic, social and territorial framework discussed by the authors. This is the phrase that has been going on since the weeks in which we realized that SARS-CoV-2 will stay with us for a long time. In this article we try to imagine the effects of pandemic on mobility, starting from history, i.e. from the effects of SARS in 2003. The effects of SARS The similarities with the SARS epidemic, which broke out in Asia between November 2002 and July 2003, are many. In fact, all the literature consulted on SARS agrees to show that the impacts in Asia were serious, but temporary. Public spending will probably grow, not because there will be more wealth (on the contrary), but because we will further increase debt by attempting to expand the economy after-crisis. It could be good news for the environment and resilience, but we must not forget that it will cost everything more, sending even more suffering to poorer citizens. I am sure that, instead, will prevail the logic of the “national champion” (Trenitalia, Alitalia, Trenord) at the expense of the few, but fundamental competitors.
