Regional science between specialisation and interdisciplinarity: mapping university teaching
Le scienze regionali tra specialismo e interdisciplinarietà: verso una mappatura degli insegnamenti
Abstract
The study explores «The regional sciences between specialism and interdisciplinaryity: towards a mapping of teachings», reconstructing the problem and the main evidence developed in the text. And also: the teachings of regional sciences are actually interdisciplinary, how would their conclaimed vocation, or tend to disciplinary specialism? As a result of this reorganization, monolithic disciplines traditionally embodied by faculties have left the place to the hybrid reappearances of schools, often the outcome of logics not exclusively attributable to criteria of scientific and academic affinity of subjects. The teachings related to regional sciences have been identified as the result of the survey, in the name of the teaching, of some key words typical of regionalistic disciplines: urban*, city*, metropolitan*, region*, territor, spaces*, local*. However, it is worth noting that there are very little universities, in which regionalistic teachings are present to a negligible extent. Direct investigation Finally, with regard to the type of degree, it emerges that in the northern and southern universities the teachings are divided fairly equally between three-year degrees and judiciary. Different is the case of the universities of central Italy, whose regionalistic teachings are mainly located in the master's degrees.
