Local embeddedness and contextual relationships of makerspaces in Milan
Radicamento e relazioni di contesto dei makerspace milanesi
Abstract
The study explores "Radiation and context relationships of Milan's makerspace", reconstructing the problem and the main evidence developed in the text. The formation of the maker, which is generally multidisciplinary, constantly evolving and learning, open and dialogue, reflects the nature of the spaces, hybrids in the aggregation of functions, in the mode of use, in the figures of the users. The survey among the makers has allowed to verify that the axes around which the activity of the Milanese fablabs is concentrated are formation, research and manufacture. They are pleased to work in the fab lab for the possibility of increasing their knowledge heritage, appreciate the creative component and the opportunity to make products with high added value. They typically develop collaborative relationships, informally, with other makers, with whom they share cultural affinities and sometimes lifestyles. Associating processes of urban regeneration to the settlement and to the presence, more or less rooted, of spaces makers does not yet appear demonstrable, beyond generic statements or intentionality not yet fully expressed.
