Geografia, infrastrutture e logistica per lo sviluppo economico locale: il caso di Alessandria
Abstract
The article deals with “Geography, infrastructure and logistics for local economic development: the case of Alessandria”, placing the theme in the economic, social and territorial framework discussed by the authors. The role of geography is not marginal in local development, as long as infrastructure - and services - ensure accessibility and connections. Similarly, it could carry out a polar logistics function of South Europe in the perspective of integration along a North-South corridor, which also foresees an alliance with the Novara Interporto. It is enough only to point out that the strategies of the navigation companies preview that in the coming years the ports of the Mediterranean are connected with the Asian markets, considered the markets more dynamic and with greater potential in the medium-long period, from ships from 18.000 TEU. The 15.000 TEU ships will connect the Asian markets with the great ports of the Northern Range. [3] In Vado Ligure in 2015 are expected the ships from 18.000 TEU. [4] In the alessandrino, in which is located a railway port with one hundred kilometers of tracks now largely unused, are present in Tortona two logistic and intermodal platforms (Rivalta Scrivia e Gruppo Gavio).
