Abstract

The work examines 'Almatourism and the development of the territory through tourism', bringing in relation the territorial dimension with the relevant economic and institutional aspects. Today Almatourism is the magazine of CAST, the Centro di Studi Advancedti sul Turismo 2 based on the Campus of Rimini of the University of Bologna. The magazine’s statement is demonstrated by the various databases and search engines that index it, including the Emerging Sources Citation Index of Thomson Reuters, and the recent recognition of the DOAJ Seal of Approval for Open Access Journals certification. This has also disincentived the presentation of articles by academics of certain disciplines that refer to bibliometric parameters, so strongly undermining the fundamental asset of the magazine that resides in this multi-faceted identity. From the outset, Almatourism wanted to become an international magazine, but chose to pursue multilingual goals by proposing the release of files in English and Italian. Although academic contributions are prevalent, Almatourism also calls on managers, policy-makers, professionals and anyone interested in discussing the issues dealt with by the magazine.
