Abstract

The article deals with “Benchmarking of the green economy of the Italian regions”, placing the theme in the economic, social and territorial framework discussed by the authors. The Green Economy (from now on GE) is defined as the meeting between business and economic, social and environmental sustainability. It is a concept that has a recent history and moves from the many failures of the UN’s ‘politics’ conferences on the environment, which followed the Earth Summit, organized by the UNCED (United Nations Conference on Environment and Development) in Rio de Janeiro in June 1992. - in 2000 with the creation of the Global Compact Network launched by the UN, a network of enterprises aimed at promoting important ethical principles in the field of human rights, environmental protection and IRES Piemonte elaboration on various sources - Green business, which focuses on what is produced and therefore on the purpose and result of the process, on the business oriented to the environment present in the regions. The six dimensions considered (politics, equipment, green production, green business, personal behaviour, green life) are formed each by four indicators, for a total of 24 indicators.
