The spatialities of emerging labour: opportunity of territorial reorganization and economic diversification
Le spazialità del lavoro emergenti: occasione di riorganizzazione territoriale e diversificazione economica
Abstract
The study explores "Emerging Work Spaces: the occasion of territorial reorganization and economic diversification", reconstructing the problem and the main evidence developed in the text. This dismissal, although attributable to a temporally non-unilinear character of deindustrialization (Pichierri, Pacetti, 2016), has conveyed, also thanks to the expansion of the real estate and financial market, the promotion of large urban transformation projects, relevant though not always virtuous. Subsequently, this theme has been set aside – with the important exception of the rereading of Veltz (2017) through the metaphor of hyper-industrial capitalism – and only partially re-examined, for example through the lens of a generic post-industrial or post-fordist transition. At the same time, a new space lexicon tried to restore decipherability to dynamics and socio-economic phenomena of contemporary urbanism to the global scale: from city-region (Scott, 2001) to regional urbanization (Soja, 2011) and to urban regionalization (Balducci, Fedeli, Curci, 2017). For example, the expansion of the coworking phenomenon, as well as the recent development of the maker and Fablab laboratories, have configured in Italy processes matured late, yet more intense and diversified than other European contexts (Manzo, Ramella, 2015).
