Abstract

The study deepens "Economic cycle and noon", reconstructing the problem and the main evidence developed in the text. Territorial qualitative indicators have also been used to reach a quarterly interpolation of the annual gross product series and the main components of demand for regional accounting (Pappalardo e Piselli, 2002). The use of microdata for the analysis of the aggregate cycle The more novelty of the work concerns the use of enterprise-wide data for the estimation of regional cyclical trends. On the contrary, most empirical studies based on macroeconomic data omit to consider the contribution of enterprise heterogeneity as a further determining potential of cyclical deviations between geographical areas. In particular, it assumes that cyclical trends are captured through marginal effects on the quarterly dummy specified in the model for each mode of the dependent variable. The North-South cyclical differences The analysis then focused on the deviations of the cyclic component of the southern distribution compared to the Centre-Nord benchmark. Future developments of the analysis The future developments of this analysis will concern the identification of factors at the basis of the above-mentioned cyclical differentials Nord-Sud.
