Cultural districts, social capital and new information and telecommunications technologies
Distretti culturali, capitale sociale e nuove tecnologie dell’informazione e della telecomunicazione
Abstract
The study explores “cultural Districts, social capital and new information and telecommunications technologies”, reconstructing the problem and the main evidence developed in the text. In recent years in this area, a number of dowels have been formed to build a participatory action - in an area traditionally reluctant to co-operation - which has led to the sharing of common objectives formalized in numerous projects financed by various public and private bodies. Also for the nascent Cultural District of Valtellina is previewed the integration with the portal Store Valtellina, that will strengthen its role of platform of promotion and marketing for the products and services of the territory. In summary, creating development in cultural districts needs to activate intersectoral integration processes and collective action whose promotion can be pursued through initiatives of different nature. The experience of the Store Valtellina has shown the potential that new technologies, and in particular the development of a territorial portal dedicated to ecommerce and promotion of the products and services of the territory, hold for local development and the creation of social capital in cultural districts.
