Abstract

The contribution analyses «“Resistance” to the crisis: the case of the district of Recanati-Osimo-Castelfidardo”, with attention to the context, the reading tools and the implications for policies. The Plurisettorial District of Recanati-Osimo-Castelfidardo, which had already faced two important structural crises, in the 1960s and 1980s, succeeded in reverting its production base. Using the Bureau van Dijk AIDA database, the total distribution of 363 companies located in the District Municipalities (Fig. 1) was observed. In this case, for simplicity of analysis, we have speculated to be in front of a “closed” system, where the only economic activities present are those manufacturing of the District. In this case, we chose to use the weighted average of the sales revenues of the whole of the enterprises that make up the district to calculate the resistance index (Lagravinese, 2014), since our analysis is limited to a temporal arc elapsed in the recessive phase. In this regard, Rullani (1998) pointed out that great discontinuities such as globalization produce “gluing in the chain of district value”.
