Abstract

The work examines 'Oltre Expo: with what perspectives?', bringing in relation the territorial dimension with the relevant economic and institutional aspects. The more critical is the balance sheet on the completion of access links to the area, although the set of infrastructure works is a very important part of the legacy for the post-Expo. The uncovered release of the rector Vago has led to the reproposition, in terms of greater concreteness and local logic, of the realization of a “polo of innovation and science” (often called Silicon Valley Milan) by Assolombarda, aimed at aggregating small and medium technologically advanced enterprises, reliablely dimensioned in 100,000 square meters. Would the creation of the research pole maintain a specialization and a meaningful relationship with the theme of Expo “Feeding the Planet Energy for Life”? This new value of the great exhibition is well represented by the theme of Expo 2015, which works on a product like food, whose consumption is characterized by a high standardization level (all we consume food) and subjectivity (if possible, we choose the food we like).
