Abstract

The work examines “an estimate of the loss of provincial added value due to Covid-19: a spatial-temporal analysis”, reporting the territorial dimension with relevant economic and institutional aspects. Covid-19 is an extremely contagious virus, and in some cases lethal, for which there is no vaccine yet. On March 4, given the high number of counts, schools and universities were closed and work remotely (smart working) strongly recommended. Autonomous workers and Iva matches will receive 600 euros to supplement income for the month of March. In this case the technique used is that space-time (Elhorst 2014, 2017, Anselin 1988, 2020) with data of value added and sectoral employment at provincial level provided by Istat for the period 2004-2017. As regards wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, transport and storage, accommodation and catering services, the province that loses the largest percentage of added value is Venice with 19%. This result deserves further insight as accommodation and catering services are included in the G-I sector.
